Highland Maize Varieties

These varieties do well in high rainfall areas with well drained good soils where rainfall distribution lasts about 150-180 days and not less than 800mm in the season. The hybrids will do well in Kakamega, Transnzoia, Uasin Ngishu, Nandi, Kericho, Nakuru, Molo, Nyeri, Murang’a and all tea and pyrethrum areas.
